About Amy S. Carter, D.O.

Amy Carter, DO, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist in private practice. Dr. Carter received her undergraduate degree in biology from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and was awarded her medical degree from Des Moines University in 2003. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology from the University of Missouri Kansas City in 2007. Dr. Carter is a partner in the practice Ferns, Matile, Perryman and Moore and founder of Kansas City Wellness Center and Medical Spa.

Dr. Carter opened Kansas City Wellness Center and Medical Spa in 2015 to serve as a comprehensive healthy aging and aesthetic center. Kansas City Wellness Center focuses on education and enhancing each client’s natural beauty in a relaxed, comfortable and private setting.

Personal Life

Dr. Carter is a strong believer that a healthy diet and exercise are fundamental for overall wellness of mind and body. Kansas City Wellness Center offers weight loss options, body contouring technology, and noninvasive procedures that can be done to turn back time to help clients feel their absolute best.

In her free time, Dr. Carter enjoys traveling with her family, spending time with family and friends, exercise and being involved with her church.

In 2007, she achieved her cosmetology license and enjoyed working in the beauty industry, but was also interested in nursing. In 2013, she gained her LPN license and worked in a wide variety of areas. Brittany graduated from North Central Missouri College in 2017 with her R.N. Brittany then began working with Dr. Carter at her OB/GYN practice, and 4 years later joined the med spa full time. Using her cosmetology and nursing skills synergistically has solidified her passion as a medical spa nurse. She is trained in the artistry and technique of facial rejuvenation and is CSU certified in body contouring. She has advanced training on state of the art lasers and non-surgical cosmetic procedures such as intense light therapy, laser hair removal, Botox, fillers, micro-needling, as well as body contouring. Brittany designs individualized treatment plans to give her clients beautiful and natural results. She believes in empowering others to feel good about themselves inside and out.

Amanda is a Nurse Practitioner and is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as well as through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). Because of her passion for health and wellness she has focused on Functional Medicine, Bio-identical Hormone replacement and Regenerative therapies to help her patients address the root causes of their symptoms and restore their natural vitality Amanda has extensive training in Bio-identical Hormone Replacement, Regenerative and Functional Medicine. She has completed an advanced fellowship in Anti-Aging, Functional and Metabolic Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). She is currently pursuing a Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine.
Her approach is to develop a partnership with patients to meet them where they are and support them along their wellness journey to promote healthy aging and disease prevention.
